Gee, Rudy, another kind of "other thought" response to one of your posts ... but I'm not seeing anything in that story to indicate that anybody -- newspaper or not -- would have gotten that story, given the circumstances.

It's pretty obvious from his side sig and the tone of all his posts that Rudy is a moron who delights in ripping everything about newspapaers and revels in people losing their jobs.

"A man has barricaded himself in his midtown apartment. Police say he is not armed, not holding any hostages and nobody seems to care."

This story is part of a larger running piece, and when you do something like this, a "where are they now" type of feature usually is of interest to the reader.

Dammit! I had the devil worshiping killer in my 2005 dead pool. I demand a recount!

I merely point out the absurdity of this business and present these items for intelligent discussion, which you are obviously not capable of doing. I have no dog in this fight and do not revel in anyone losing their job. If that is what you got from this post you are the true moron.

While newspaper still need to produce breaking news, retrospective pieces also draw readers in, especially well-done ones. What is your beef with the series, Rudy?

Oh, newspapers will be around for a while.

I really don't see parents laying down a layer of farily-expensive iPads whenever their children want to finger paint.

Don't think he has one ... likes to sit back without expressing a point of view. Kinda like the "ha ha" kid on The Simpsons.

Your medium is dying!

I'm moving next week and wrapping all of my wife's grandmother's china in Kindles.

If the newspaper industry's survival is dependent upon people moving, kids water painting, or any other post-read use, then the industry is indeed soon to be extinct.

Meanwhile, I cringe when I read this in the story about the first victim:

"The group confronted Carlin during his graveyard shift at a Santa Ana gas station on June 2, 1970. "
