Up yours, bloggers!

As newspapers struggle with changing times, one young Davis entrepreneur has cast his lot with the printed word.

Finnegan O'Toole Boire founded his own paper in September. He writes, takes photos, sells ads and handles printing and circulation.

"I'm the editor-in-chief," he said. "I'm also the delivery boy. I do pretty much everything all by myself."

Unfortunately, no, he's not hiring yet.

You said, "O'Toole." [/beavis]

Seeking a better profit margin, I assume, he's moved to the web. Soon he'll lay himself off.

You mean offer himself a buyout?

We prefer to call it a Voluntary Separation Package.

All jokes aside, that kid is pretty damn amazing.

Maybe next week when he wants to be a fireman his parents will buy him a firetruck. Or maybe he'll be my boss someday.

That is one cool kid! More power to him. Hope he reaches his 52-issue goal.

Kid needs to monetize, start charging for obits.

Some older kids did this in my neighborhood, I'm not sure if I was old enough to read yet, but I think it lasted only a few issues. They printed it with a mimeograph -- if you're too young to remember those, teachers used them to print tests and such, and you could get high just from sniffing the page if the ink was still reasonably fresh. My dad would buy a copy. I don't think he cared what it said, he just thought it was cool that the kids would do something like that instead of being a pain in the ass in a more traditional way.

This is awesome. What a cool kid. I love the fact that he's doing this, and if you look at it without being a cynic , you'd be amused.

DyePack needs to straighten him out. Clearly he's spending all his extra time on design.
