If the Rockets decide to trade for Howard without getting the assurance of a contract extension, that would be ridiculous.

So now the T-Wolves have acquired Budinger to play alongside Love, Rubio, Pekovic, Ridnour, Darko and Barea? Umm, at risk of touching on a potentially sensitive area, has anyone noticed a certain umm, similarity, in Minny's personal moves the last couple years?

They have quickly become Mark 2010's favorite team. No homies from the hood there.

I like all the Minnesota teams. Used to work just down the road from Ridenour's hometown. He had a career-high (scoring) the same day the Seahawks got to the Super Bowl and Kobe Bryant scored 81 points. Talk about a loaded section on a Sunday.

Not at all, they can flip at the deadline and probably get more thatn they are giving up now. It's a gamble, but a shot worth taking

He's not a star, but he's a serviceable guy off the bench. Legit seven-footer who can block some shots. If the draft was redone, he obviously goes after Carmelo Anthony instead of before him, and probably isn't seen as much of a flop. Also, his drafting was one of the first bad moves of the Joe Dumars era in Detroit, since it was clear Darko needed more of a coach with a long-term outlook instead of Larry Brown.

Most 7-footers can block some shots. He's now been in the league for about a decade. Who knows for sure but I'd say if he was taken after Carmelo, like in the teens, he'd be out of the league. Because he was the 2nd pick and still isn't 30 there's probably someone in Minnesota's front office who thinks he hasn't peaked yet. Guess it's possible that he still can improve some but kind of doubt it.

Well, in a game of one-on-one, you're right. But if physical fitness, team defense, rebounding and not being a pompous ass who takes 35 shots every meaningful game are involved, Bosh is better. Bosh has 79 career win shares to Anthony's 63, per basketball-reference. In addition, his offensive and defensive ratings are better. And, until he joined the Heat and opted for a third-tier, his Player Efficiency Rating was consistently better.

Agree with this. Bosh also didn't hold his team hostage before free agency, a la Anthony and Vince Carter.

Funny the way public sentiment can swing on a dime. The Heat win a title and suddenly the previously much maligned Chris Bosh is better than Carmelo--a notion that I'm guessin nobody would've dared claim a month ago.

I've never wavered on this one, Stoney. Bosh was better when he was in Toronto and Anthony was in Denver, and he's better now, too.
