I am pumped. Took the kid to see Shrek today and saw a trailer for The Transformers.

Holy ****ing **** does this look like a kick-ass movie, which is amazing because I don't usually go for the summer blockbusters (haven't even seen Spidy or PofC 2 yet and they're about to release threequels).

But watching The Transformers trailer brought back memories from 20 years ago playing Transformers on the carpet with my little brother ...

I haven't been this excited about a movie since Batman (the first one.)

What's the bad guy's name again?

It's a Michael Bay movie, so there's a real good chance it's going to suck to high heaven..

It's like getting a chance to hook up with the hottest girl in high school only to find out that she's a nun.

Megatron. Hugo Weaving is doing the voice.

Forgot about him doing the voice....I can definitely picture that.

Yahoo had another trailer a few days ago. The link is below. Also some good pictures to see what the Transformers look like.

America has, for the last 25 years, yearned for a Transformers vs. Gobots movie. The prophecy cannot be completed until this happens.

Ok, even I wouldn't go see that. And I bought the original Transformers vs. G.I. Joe miniseries back in the '80s.

At first I was very suspect on this but after seeing the various TV spots, Shrek trailer, PoTC trailer and the new online trailer along with what seems thousands of pictures; I believe it'll be good.

The only problems I had (initially) were Bumblebee being a huge player (he's a camaro for crying out loud, though that's along story as VW didn't want the bug represented as a war machine), Jazz being smaller than BB, Starscream having chicken legs, and some other stuff (no Ark or Teletran-1).

So, does this mean I'll be able to put all my old Transformers on ebay and make a killing now?

I'm one, too. I don't care for Starscream's look, either.

And Bumblebee should be the smallest Autobot, if they are going to be true to the character from the comics (and cartoons). He was always the weaker "little brother" with more guts than firepower. I have no problem with him being an important character, because he always was one in the comics and cartoons, but he should not be going toe-to-toe with big bad guys and kicking ass.

For those who have seen the trailers, which Autobot is that climbing out of the pool with the little girl watching? I saw somewhere that it is an Autobot, but it's kinda hard to identify these guys.

I like most of the other pictures I've seen. Jazz in particular does a nice job capturing just enough of the comic book character's look to make him identifiable and Megatron looks exactly as he should -- like a psycho.

Yeah, I'm a nerd. :)

That would be Ironhide pre-Earth mode climbing out of the water. Yeah it wasn't a huge knock on Bumbleebee, I was just a little upset that he's bigger than Jazz.

Thanks. Makes sense. I forgot that they would probably change forms after landing on Earth.

Minor thing I noticed in the trailer....I'll move it down a bit in case you don't want to read the little gags form the movie on here.....

I just watched the yahoo trailer again. Notice the scene in the car lot where the kid buys Bumblebee....there is a VW bug right next to him.

You know if this movie is a success, we'll be seeing a live-action My Little Pony in a couple of summers.
Do you really want that to happen?
