Metro, the No. 1 free daily newspaper in the United States, seeks a digital-first Sports Editor and Writer to manage all things New York sports at Metro.us and in print.
This person should have a strong understanding of New York as well as National sports and should have strong reporting skills (the ability to break news, not afraid to tackle off-beat, quirky topics). He or she must have strong knowledge of the best SEO and social media practices. The ability to drive website traffic and promote the site is a must and traffic goals will be set. Background with video preferred.
This person will also be in charge of budgeting the daily New York print product and will manage a small team of freelancers.
