The twitter feed on the Bentley chase....
it is continually amazinghow much time is dedicated to stories with extremely limited public "need to knowness" and chock fully of yummy "celebriscandal/how did you feel" frosting and chocolate syrup. I really don't know which of the following stories is more newsworthy: Phelps and pot, Bale's tirade, ARod admits steroids, Chris Brown beats on girlfriend. Even Sully and crew didn't share any big "NEWS" on 60 Minutes, though it was touching to realize how even surviving the crash affected all aboard.
Perhaps they serve as a momentary pause from the drumbeat of bad economic news, and we can at least be grateful that there are 155 people alive who might have been dead a month ago and that if nothing else, the average unemployed schlub can take pride that they aren't pot smoking, cinematographer berating, steroid juicing, women-beaters.
