1. Does the county sheriff/police offer 24-hour service?
2. How many officers are on the county staff? Will the county increase its staff? Will any of the fired city officers come work for the county?
3. Where's the nearest state police post? Do they have any presence/authority in the area?

Few questions:

1. Does the county sheriff/police offer 24-hour service? YES, but the dumbasses announced that basically one officer will be on call for the whole city at a time.
2. How many officers are on the county staff? Will the county increase its staff? Will any of the fired city officers come work for the county? STAFFING is the same, four fulltimers and a part-timer and all have been told they can apply for the county jobs if qualified. HOOTERVILLE had the lowest paid cops in the county. One officer just left from HOOTERVILLE to HOOVER and got a 20k raise.
3. Where's the nearest state police post? Do they have any presence/authority in the area? STATE POLICE is minimal.. Post is like 8 miles away on the main highway, but to see one is rare.

Some things will remain the same. Neighborhood patrols will continue to be minimal and speeders will continue to roar through the main drag at 50 in the posted 25 zone...

On the other hand, the Hooterville Stop-N-Snak will continue to be the safest place in the area, thanks to its patronage of the county cops along with those from Pixley. If anyone in town ever needs to find a cop, all you have to do is head there and watch them flirt with the average for this area, fugly for the rest of the civilized world counter help.

Word from an ex-councilman buddy is that they got rid of the cops, because the city is facing a potential asskicking lawsuit from another incident (not with the cops but some other city position shared with Pixley. Seems this guy took the car given to him by the city for offishul use, went to Mississippi with his girl friend, got drunk and hit another car head on...)

Got recorded call today from the sheriff's department telling us that the citizen's of Hooterville are now under the county sheriff's department jurisdiction...and which numbers to call. This is going to be interesting...
