That dog is going to die from heart failure before it's five after years of struggling to breath and an inability to regulate her body temperature. But keep breeding these dogs. If the breed typically needs to be born by C-section, something is wrong.

Lots of truth to that. Dogs which become popular with the AKC show set start to get inbred. I've seen both Irish Setters and Cocker Spaniels have all the sense bred out of them in order to get the right show points reinforced.

Popular breeds like retrievers have their genetic problems, but there are enough lines (hunting, pet, show) to keep them healthy. When the whole purpose is some stupid breed standard that restricts breathing, causes problems with their teeth, and makes a mother physically unable to naturally give birth, it's disgusting abuse.
