Here's my post from the last thread that was squelched, although it's highly debatable whether it deserves a reprieve:

It would be fun to have those three games in Yankee Stadium against the M's in early September mean something.
If Jeff Weaver pitches one of those games, the faithful should be in full cry.
I thought I was just throwing a random observation out there. Maybe I have a future as a troll! Let's see; creamora threatened me physically, Rokski out-haikued me three to one, JDV lumps me in with the other Villa Army wannabes--it's a desperation thing, whatever--but I never thought I'd light Angola off like a five-cent firecracker.
I have a future. ;)
Sorry. I was just so excited when the Yankees made that trade to get Jeff Weaver. I thought he was going to be nails for years to come and instead he spit the bit and was terrible.
I can't figure the guy out. The team shaved their heads toward the end of their most recent winning streak, and only Weaver opted out. On the other hand, he never ducked interviews, even when he was at his worst.
He seems to have a resilient arm, and he can throw strikes from several angles when he's on. Earlier this year his pitches were flat and minus a yard or two; now they have has some break and some zip.
He would bring on some serious outrage if he pitched in that September series. And danged if I know how he would handle it.
Is there something about dealing with Scott Boras that makes his clients go sideways?
