From the AP:
RUSTON, La. — Louisiana Tech women’s basketball coach Chris Long turned down an automatic bid to the Women’s National Invitational Tournament on Saturday, saying it’s the NCAA Tournament or nothing for the Lady Techsters.
“Louisiana Tech women’s basketball has been about playing in the NCAA Tournament,” Long, whose team had been one of two that had been in every women’s tournament since the NCAA first took them over in the 1981-82 season. “We did not do enough this season to reach that goal. With all due respect to the WNIT, we are not interested in an invitation."

Now that the NCAA is running the NIT and WNIT, should La. Tech face some sort of punishment?

Well the name says Invitational. Do you accept every invitation you ever get. What if you're invited over to an ugly girl's house at the end of the night? I think that's rather analagous myself. ;D

Upon further review, the WNIT was not included in the NCAA's settlement with the MIBA.

So ... um ... nevermind.

**** La. Tech. They shoulda kept their home conference winning streak intact instead of losing to a much less talented (but harder working) Boise State team. Buncha ****ing whiners.

If I'm in a slump? Damn right.

Are we talking physical deformity here or just slightly homely?

You'd so hit it.

I really don't understand the original question. Why would they face punishment? Isn't being in Ruston, La., punishment enough?

Depends, on how drunk I am. But I'm down with slightly homely, for sure.

It lost twice in conference play at home ... give credit to the mighty Wolf Pack as well.

They lost to Nevada too? Again, buncha ****ing whiners. There's only so long you can ride your past glory to the NCAA tourney, esp. if you're playing in a second-tier conference like the WAC.
