In other words, I don’t know what to expect. Gut says Red Sox. Mind says Rays. Heart says I shouldn’t have had that Mexican food. And eyes say its bedtime. God, I love baseball. :D

Poz is very, very good, but some of the comments on his blog (Joe, you make the world a better place./ Joe, how do you kick ass so consistently?/ Joe, your humanity sets you apart) are so worshipful they almost seem like a put-on. The guy's talented, but calm down, people.

Everyone sidles up to a "winner" regardless of profession.

Why can't SI put him on the back page?

That would be a great idea.

As part of the rotation, maybe (plus, he still has his day job in KC, right?). But I like the variety, freed from a half-effort Reilly. Ballard, Price, Roberts and Taylor all have had good pieces back there, IMHO. I'd like to see McCallum write for back there too, more variety from him.

Actually, I read those comments and thought something else.

I thought about how refreshing it was for a journalist to be so completely revered, rather than reviled, for what he wrote.

And how he deserved it.

WFFW, shotty. I love Poz's writing because he connects with the common fan, with why we love sports, while also connecting with the humanity of the athletes involved, all while being insightful and ****ing hilarious.
