During time outs, Gray’s kissing every celebrity ass in site – including Tom Arnold’s. It’s hugs & kisses all around. Typical LA star ****ing bull****.

I’ve got an aisle seat, so as Jim comes by, I get his attention. “Hey Jim,” I say. “Chad Curtis is a few rows back and he’s looking to talk to you.”

He looked at me blankly and slumped away.

I hate Jim Gray. HATE him. I dislike sideline reporters in general, but especially hate Gray. He's got no personality and asks the same, stupid boring questions every halftime and after every game. I click on mute every time he's on the air, but it drives me crazy when they put the cameras on him and his pointless interviews with celebrities in the game instead of the game. If the NBA was on the fringe of my interests, his presence would be enough to make me never watch the broadcast again. Unfortunately, I like the rest of the product too much, and I'll deal with Gray to watch the high-level basketball. I wish TV broadcasts with get rid of sideline reporters altogether, but I especially wish they get rid of Jim Gray. The local broadcasts that have no sideline reporters are such better TV products.

I don't understand why everything thread about some big-time reporter becomes a ***** session on why everyone hates him. Why does it matter? The mark of a good reporter isn't how many people like him. It's how many stories he breaks and how accurate he is.
Obviously, Gray botched this one, but he certainly is one of the few respected TV reporters around, I think.
Reporters who have great access, great contacts, and generally kick everyones ass usually aren't loved, right?

Moland - My point is that Jim Gray trying to avoid talking about it - pledging that he just wanted to move on, yada, yada, yada, is a stance that a reporter should never, ever, ever take. Considering what we do, you screw up, you sit there and you answer every ******* question about it, particularly if you're a guy who made his name badgering someone on national television.

I know some people sound a little different on the phone, but wouldn't he have recognized Iverson's voice? Or did the guy on the other end do that good a job impersonating AI?
