boots,

I'm surprised you are taking orders from the white man in amerikka.

If you drink green tea instead of coffee, you'll lose five pounds in a week.

And don't take any dumb advice about easing your way into it. Cold turkey's the only way to go.

I know nothing about green tea. Please explain... how will it make you lose five pounds in a week if you drink it instead of coffee? Assuming the coffee isn't loaded with cream and sugar.

Maybe you'll get the runs. That'll do it.

I haven't had a drink of coffee in four days. I actually feel calmer. If I can keep it up, my next task may be giving up the chocolate starfish but that might be asking for too much too soon for my freaked out system to handle.

THERE'S A DRIVE........A-WAAAAYYYYY BACK........IT MIGHT BE..........IT COULD BE.........IT IS.............A HOME RUN.......HOOLLLYY COW!!!!!!!! [ripharrycaray]

Why not? I am white. Besides, I've got three doctors, one white, the Indian and a specialist who I believe is biracial. What's the big deal about that?

Rosie is right.
I'll give up lots of things. I won't give up coffee.
I've tried.
I won't try again.
I need to lose weight and all that but I will not give up my coffee.
If someone says "you will die if you don't give up coffee," I will say, "Don't spend too much on the funeral. Put my sox in a cedar box and kiss my ass good-bye (thank you John Prine)."

I tend to make really strong coffee. I don't know whether that's the problem or it's something else... But I have some serious bowel movements when I drink coffee. Also, I get terrible stomach aches where it feels like I'm going to vomit. Then I crash so hard in the afternoons that I nearly can't keep my eyes open.

Is this normal? Because of my reaction to this great drug, I don't drink much coffee.

I'm into Day 5 of No Coffee. I must admit I'd doing a lot better with the no coffee campaign than I am stopping smoking and losing weight. However, I did walk two miles today.

And you still can't remember where you parked the damn car!

No, I remembered where I parked the car. I just couldn't remember where I left my keys. ;D

Easiest way to stop drinking coffee is to do what I did. Never started drinking coffee.

Too late for that but not too late to quit. I've also been sleeping better of late too.

Almost had a relapse this evening. A friend, who didn't know I had stopped drinking coffee, dropped by with some doughnuts and a nice cup of Starbucks. Thank goodness I had the strength to say no.

I won't lie. I'm completely addicted to coffee. It's the only thing getting me through grad school.

I drink way less coffee than I used to. A cup and a half of black coffee first thing every morning before I run. What I don't get... Why the need to quit? There is as much suggesting that coffee presents no health risk or it may actually have health benefits as there is suggesting it's bad for you. Dude, give the cigarettes and lose weight. Those things ARE bad for you.

Rags, all I know is that I've been sleeping bete since giving up coffee.

I gave up drinking the high-calorie, high-fat coffee drinks such as frappuccinos and machiatos and such.

I will not give up drinking black coffee.

I think my doctors were worried about too much heart activity. I took a red bull and drank a cup of coffee before my last visit. My blood pressure was sky high and I was very hyper. Too hyper for him I think.
