I hope Fisk University women's basketball fans aren't close to any sharp objects.

Link to the SID release: http://lipscombsports.cstv.com/sports/w-baskbl/recaps/111307aab.html

Fisk had 35 turnovers, shot 16.7 percent and was out-rebounded 67-19.

Glad I wasn't there. I might have poked my eyes out with a red pen.

Missed the Division I women's record for margin of victory by one point.

Somewhere Bill Belichick is smiling and dreaming.

Huh?
Norman, Bill gets a hard-on for running up the score. That cat is having wet dreams tonight of beating Buffalo by 102 points.

When I was in high school, our girls basketball team won a game 123-11. Folks in the area weren't too happy.

Hell, I covered a 123-19 game last year. Team that lost had two girls foul out and had to play 5 on 3 (one girl was out with an injury, if I remember correctly).

It was a tight game until that 28-0 run turned a 6-2 lead to 34-2. And then that 19-0 run later in the half. And then that 17-0 run ...

Back when I covered women's college hoops, I had a system of relieving boredom during these far-too frequent blowouts...

1. Look for the most unathletic person on the bad team.
2. Watch her fall down.
3. Laugh.
4. Watch her fall down.
5. Laugh again.

It's always funny, epecially if she's tall, and even funnier if she's tall and Eastern European.

Girl that plays in this conference......is from Slo----something or other......6'9.

Yeah.....a 6'9 girl.

Edit: Just saw her bio......she is from California, (yeah, that's close to Slo-something).......she averaged 2 points, 9 boards last year. Yeah....this could be fun to watch.

Covered a 100-24 prep girls game once. Winning team was fouling intentionally in the final minute to get the ball back and get 100. Three starters were on the floor at the end when the 100th point was scored. The home crowd went bonkers like they won the state championship.

I don't care how bad Fisk is. The Lipscomb coach deserves some serious **** for this. I wouldn't have played the starters in the second half at all. Good God, it was 61-10 at halftime.

I just looked at the play-by-play. Lipscomb opened the second half with a 29-1 run. It was 90-11 with 12:36 left. Lipscomb did not take its last two starters out of the game until there was 8:29 left. The score was 100-16.

I guess you don't want to take the air out of the ball -- now that would be really humiliating! -- but Lipscomb shot 11 three-pointers in the second half. That's ridiculous. I'm now rooting for Lipscomb to lose the rest of its games. But, hey, they made ESPN this morning.

And making ESPN I'm sure was very prominent in their minds. A 99-point win wouldn't have done it.

That's funny anyways.

Damn 30 second shot clock. ;D

I'm sure Lipscomb will get on the receiving end of one of these in the not too distant future.

Too bad the Lady Bisons don't play Tennessee this year.
