Come now, Fens.

I'm sure a little straight talk will clear this little spat among John's friends right up.

I'm waiting for the Presbyterian's reaction.

But Catholic League President Bill Donohue said in a statement today that Hagee has written extensively in negative ways about the Catholic Church, "calling it 'The Great *****,' an 'apostate church,' the 'anti-Christ,' and a 'false cult system.'"

Yeah, but in Pastor Hagee's defense, the Catholic Church also squawked about Martin Luther a few years ago for his criticisms.

But Ace, that was nothing compared to their protestations over John Calvin.

And his brother Cliff.

Oh, CALvin.

My bad.

They are still working on forming the committee that will select the committee to discuss these latest developments.

But they had to borrow the Unitarians' coffee pot.

The Lutherans are busily making Jello molds.

What relevance they will have remains in doubt. But, mark my words, there will be lime Jello with canned pineapple in it.

Jesus H. Christ on a tap-dancing camel ...

Just once, JUST ONE TIME DAMMIT, I'd like to see you post the nut graf so the rest of us will know what you're talking about without clicking the ****ing link.

HOUSTON -- The president of the Catholic League today blasted Sen. John McCain for accepting the endorsement of Texas evangelicalist John Hagee, calling the controversial pastor a bigot who has "waged an unrelenting war against the Catholic Church."

Hagee, who is known for his crusading support of Israel, backed McCain's presidential bid Wednesday, standing next to the senator at a hotel in San Antonio and calling McCain "a man of principle."

But Catholic League President Bill Donohue said in a statement today that Hagee has written extensively in negative ways about the Catholic Church, "calling it 'The Great *****,' an 'apostate church,' the 'anti-Christ,' and a 'false cult system.'"

I don't know anything about this guy other than what was in the article, but nothing there puts him in the same universe as Farakhan. Is there something else that makes this even close to paralllel?

He's a conservative evangelical Bible believer. To some in here, that's all that's needed.

Hey Jboy, you just passed the lie detector test. Bet that

Ok, a nut case endorsed McCain.
Why does it have to be reported?

Because many Republicans have feared that McCain is considered too "liberal" to get votes from the nutjob right wingers. This should ease their fears.

It's good news. Relax and enjoy it.
Why does every single person pretend like their endorsement matters? Who even heard of this clown before today?

And you're a journalist?

Bet you haven't heard of Billy Graham either.

But you have heard of Ted Haggard.

Wonder why that is.

Yeah, but what would we do without bingo night?

In the mid 1800s and up to the early part of the last century, most protestant churches had it in their doctrine that the Pope was an antichrist, or something very close.

Donahue needs to check with the current pope to find his view on the protestant faith, which he clearly denounced a few months ago as "flawed."

Or maybe they think the committee is meeting and gazing around the vast number of empty seats in the typical Presby church these days, thinks "that's where they are."
