Had to miss the Synchronicity tour and always hoped they'd reunite. But I thought Sting had gotten too full of himself over the years for it to happen.

An all-time favorite lyrical excerpt ...
"There's a king on a throne with his eyes torn out
There's a blind man looking for a shadow of doubt
There's a rich man sleeping on a golden bed
There's a skeleton choking on a crust of bread"
The Police
"King of Pain"
"Synchronicity"

If this comes off, one of my standard sayings will be rendered irrelevant: Everyone gets back together...except The Police.
Oh wait! And Journey. Everyone gets back together...except the REAL Journey.

Saw the first Police Picnic - a huge festival of new wave bands they headlined - in Oakville, Ontario (I believe our erstwhile colleague Mr. Friend O' the Friendless was there too) and I saw them headline on the Amnesty International tour stop at Giants Stadium (which, I believe, is the last gig they ever played in North America). They blew U2 - an unreal live band in those days - off the stage.
