I have to bring a salad to a potluck supper tomorrow night.

I don't feel like surfing the net for recipes. I'm bored with the typical tuna-macaroni salad.

I don't do hot-spicy and I'm allergic to green peppers. I do not have access to 'exotic' ingredients.

With those three things in mind, does anyone have any favorite recipes to share?

Greek pasta salad is always a hit.

Rotini
Feta
Cukes
Toms (if you can find some that don't suck)
Olives

Olive oil, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, pepper to taste.

Easy, colorful and fun.

As long as it has copious amounts of ranch on it, I will eat any salad. Though a fruit salad with ranch would be pretty gross.

Garden greens
Red peppers
Fresh mushrooms
Pear
Avocado
Almond slices
Chicken

Make it colourful for presentation purposes. Pick any dressing you like ... Maybe a berry vinaigrette? Or peppercorn ranch?

SHouldn't you be bringing hotdish to a potluck in your neck of the north woods?

Romaine lettuce
Pico de gallo (chopped cilantro, diced red onion and diced tomatoes)
grilled chicken breast, diced
Mix all together and add ranch dressing.

Cilantro is great stuff.

at home I have a recipe for a cherry tomato-greenbean-redskin potato salad with vermouth vinagrette (tho any one will work).
I'll send when I get home if you want

If anyone but Mom had started this thread, I'd have recommended a tossed salad.

Not when there's been assigned dishes to bring. (It's an end-of-the-season sports banquet for one of the Rosebuds.)

At least those of who know didn't tell me to look in the Lutheran Ladies cook book. No green jello with coleslaw this time around.

HA! I clicked on this and figured that any offensive comments would be kept to a minimum since Rosie started it.

I was going to suggest asking the tossed salad man.....

dried bing cherries
havarti
pepper deli turkey
dressing -- dijon mustard, olive oil, red wine vinegar and whisk in S/P
mix in with arugula and romaine
