I've never once received an answer from the crowd who says global warming does not exist, but I'll ask once more anyway:

Let's assume for a moment that global warming is a crock of ****. It won't happen, the earth is just in a normal warming cycle.

Now, as humans interpret this warming cycle as a dangerous effect of human fossil fuel consumption and pollution, someone like Al Gore steps to the front and encourages countries and people to adopt "greener" lifestyles. Stop wasting energy, look for new sources of clean-burning, renewable fuels. Stop polluting the atmosphere.

Even if global warming is a complete crock of ****, why would any of the things Al Gore and other environmentalists are trying to accomplish be a bad thing?

I can accept if Hondo, Yawn or others don't believe in global warming, although I personally see it as burying your head in the sand. I can't understand why they are against having a cleaner planet other than it's a cause supported "by those damn lefties."

Seriously, there is no downside to exploring ways to clean up the planet. None.

You win dude. China is kicking our economic ass. Let's let them rub our face in it too. We'll be paying $12 a gallon for gas, we'll all lose what jobs we have, but the Obama administration will be sending us all welfare checks and health care. Wow. Wonder who's going to pay for that if we're all broke and all our commerce is in China and India?

I'm saying that there's more than one country on the globe and at this point in time, you're driving this country over the cliff if you adopt algore's thinking, believing it or not, right or wrong. Sure, conservation is a good thing, and so is self-restraint. But this comes from a politician who lives large and has spent large most of his professional career. If we're going to do it, we do it as a world, and that includes the Chinese and Indians who are consuming at a much faster growing rate than we are, and in sheer volume, will more than surpass that soon.

Let's be real here. Modern temperature records don't exactly go back too far. Neither do satellites. We don't know what the cap looked like in 1300, or 1300 BC. Was there a hundred-year warming trend there? Possibly.

Again, if we want to conserve, I'm cool with it, but we do it as a world. I'd like to keep my job in America.

So, that means global warming existed yesterday, but not today. Got it.
