Watching the Changeling yesterday, I learned that in 1930, we were still executing people in this country by hanging. I really thought we had done away with that as a form execution prior to 1930.

Unless, of course, the movie was historically inaccurate on this point.

The movie was accurate.
Delaware was the last state to hang somone, in 1996.
New Hampshire and Washignton still have hanging as a option.
The Feds last execution by hanging was in the ealry 1960s.

We moved to a new place recently and I gave directions to a friend who was coming to visit. Out of curiosity I looked up what Google recommended. It was very, very different than how we get home, and much, much longer.
