25's a dispiriting age...I'm pretty sure it's officially too old to be a young ****ing stud, but still too young to be in any way grizzled or worthy of respect. It's tough.

I'm 37 -- young enough to remember when I was the one telling older folks that they had best get with the times, and old enough to know that there's a better way to say it.

1. Just as not all young journalists are whippersnapper know-it-alls, not all veterans are burned-out husks.

2. If all you see in your elders is irrelevance, you're missing out on some wonderful lessons that will serve you well at every stage of your career.

3. Time will get you, too.

33, but I got carded at a pizza place in a college town a couple of weeks ago, so even with gray hairs mixing in with the brown ones, apparently I can still pass for young. They'll be carding me till the day I die, which will probably be in the next 2-3 years.

I always thought 25 would be and was the perfect age. Still young enough to feel like you can hang with the college kids, yet you can say you're outta college and can fit in with the young professionals. I miss 25. Though I'm not that much older.
