Guessing the guy opened up every gas line in the house before he decided to take his last shot with the flare gun.

That explosion is less than a mile from the hospital where my kids were born. Any closer and that could’ve gotten much uglier.

While this current time in American history sucks, it truly doesn't hold a candle to 1963-1975, when we had the Cold War, multiple assassinations, an unpopular overseas war, clashes over civil rights, Charles Manson, the Zodiac killer, the SLA, Watergate and OPEC. And you wonder why Boomers are just a little jaded.

And that doesn't even come close to the period of time between the Missouri Compromise and the Civil War, culminating in Lincoln's assassination and Reconstruction.

Turmoil is the rule rather than the exception in the history of this country. Makes for better news gathering.

Ugh. There was a gas explosion in a house south of Indianapolis years ago that killed two sleeping neighbors and trashed a bunch of houses. Turns out the explosion was the work of a couple seeking insurance money -- they weren't home, they boarded the pets, tried to make it look like an accident while out of town. They'll die in prison.
