from TVGuide.com:
Per the Hollywood Reporter, My Name Is Earl's Jason Lee will play live-action "dad" Dave Seville to computer-animated Alvin and the Chipmunks. Sounds good, doesn't it, Alvin? Alvin...? Alvin!!!!
Ugh. Just... ugh.

You expect a guy who named his kid Pilot Inspektor (spelling may be a bit off) to have good judgement?

And folks wonder why box office numbers aren't as big as they once were.

I think you guys are being harsh. Alvin and the Chipmunks was groundbreaking and it's clear that Alvin and Simon were the blueprints that Matt Groening based Bart and Lisa on.

Plus I have all their records.

I plan on boycotting this movie as Mr. Seville is clearly into underage bestiality. None of those chipmunks had pants or were over the age of 18.

Nah. He was just exploiting their sexuality and musical talents for profit. Kinda like Jessica Simpson's dad. Nothing illegal about that.

No worries. Like most chipmunks, they kept their nuts in their cheeks.

That may be the case. But I think even you would agree that the fine folks of West Virginia have been taken advantage enough.

Mr. Seville isn't an animal pedophile. The Man in the Yellow Hat, on the other hand, is.

Not true. It was George who was curious. The Man in the Yellow Hat was merely world weary.

Jason Scott Lee seems like the wrong guy to play Dave Seville...Bob Saget strikes me as a far better fit.
And yes, I just speculated on who should play the adult who deals with a group of singing chipmunks.

Yes George was (bi?)curious, but it was the Man in the Yellow Hat who took advantage of George.

Anybody knows that if you bring home a small monkey from the jungle, it's strictly for prurient reasons.</voice of the narrator>

Just found out that he's also gonna be the voice of "Underdog" in the live-action movie this summer. It's a long way from "Chasing Amy" for our boy Banky.

I loved Underdog when I was a kid. I recently gave my nephew the DVDs.

The movie based on the Batman TV series of 1966 is the gold standard of kitsch/crap. The technology today is just too good to make bad ideas like this Chipmunk thing an enjoyable experience. It creates an expectation of quality.
