I'm told the Albany Times Union is down to two full-time sports writers, with Pete Dougherty having left last week and Tim Wilkin taking a buyout late last year.

I didn't find a farewell column but he lists himself as retired on his Twitter profile.

He still did the Saratoga racing stuff this summer, although it might have been just daily selections.
