Happy Thanksgiving!

Help Support Sports Journalists Forum:

So Alice and I had our first Thanksgiving just for two ever. It went great, except the smaller turkey got done about an hour before we are used to. She didn't have a chance to make the apple pie and asked if that could be postponed until tomorrow. We had pear, blue cheese and a Vacqueyras red from the Rhone instead. Trade that helped both clubs. Only problem is it's six and my body feels like it's 10.

You, too?

Lunch at the mother-in-law's that went much better than expected. And, out of the blue, she gave us a painting by our favorite artist. (She inherited it from her longtime man friend who died a couple of months ago, and the colors didn't go with her decor.)

Turkey was actually good. Sister-in-law has figured out a brining technique that guarantees the whole this is moist, and brother-in-law carved it in a way that every piece had some crispy skin on. And had a safe trip there and back.

Looking forward to the annual War on Christmas starting at midnight. The trump edition should be a fine bloody affair

Twins recently turned 1 and are pretty healthy.
Wife doing well with next baby due in March.
Great job with a great company that compensates me well and values my work.
Much for which I am thankful.
And somewhere out there in the world is a missing prosthetic boob...
(Reminder that Secret Santa registration is in progress in another thread - deadline is November 27th!)

Woke up in Scranton. Breakfast at the Lackawanna Train Station. Just sit down for breakfast.

Some lady just came in and asked for a table for FIFTY. JFC. And the lady wanted tables put together to sit all fifty together. Zoo.

Glad we have our order in. And most of them are kids.

I feel sorry for the servers.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Four hours of cleaning (interrupted by a walk with Mrs. W) completed and the house looks normal again. We make way too much food and our families are animals. By the time I was done carving the second turkey, everyone was done with their main courses, so I didn't even eat until everyone left.

I am taking a well deserved nap, having one big plate of unhealthy food and then back to the path of good eating.
