I finally snapped. Quit watching with about 20 minutes left. I couldn't take it. It was that painful.

Grey was in the water for A HALF ****ING HOUR! Did she live? Personally, I hope not.

I do believe she's been down for a good half-hour, based on her rescue, the transport to the hospital and the time working on her there, but there was no way to follow the timeline to declare that she'd been in the water for a half hour.

See, that I can believe, over the fact that Grey was under water for what seemed like 45 minutes, and she is still somehow alive on the operating table (up to the point where she wasn't, of course, until she is again next episode.) I don't mind a stretch to advance a storyline, but she was under water a long friggen time.

And here we are again with that little "suspension of disbelief" thing.

Repeat after me: The show does not run in real time. You have no way of KNOWING how long she was in the water.

There is nothing to indicate that she wasn't still out there working on victims at the same time those relatives were appearing in the ER. Still no proof.

There is nothing to indicate that she wasn't still out there working on victims at the same time those relatives were appearing in the ER. Still no proof.

Also possible that she was bobbing up and down in the water like an ice cube for a little while until she finally sunk ... people on here should know better than to take storytelling literally, especially on tv ... moving around time elements create drama ... if it had been done in real time and it was only really 2 minutes we wouldn't have any buzz to talk about ...

Reality TV is especially guilty of manipulating time because otherwise there'd be no suspense.

Actually, I'm not as bothered by it being over the top as I am with it losing it's originality ... how many times has this been done on television ... just because they took 3 episodes to bring her back to life doesn't make it special.

My guess is these episodes are meant to serve two purposes: 1. sweeps and 2. give the actors some Emmy material.

Last week's episode was one of the worst hours of television I have ever seen...

It was also the second highest-rated Grey's show ever, behind only the Super Bowl episode...

Maybe it's just me, and the fact I'm a simpleton. But I can't tell a difference in the show. Maybe it's because I go to movies and shut my brain off, so I don't see plot holes. Maybe I just watch television to watch it.

That must've been an interesting writers' meeting...

Story ideas? Uh... How about we try to drown the title character? She'll flatline and then she'll see the Friday Night Lights coach, which will remind everyone that there is much better shows on TV... Then to the surprise of no one, we'll bring her back to life...

I'm still loving this show, but I also turn my brain off during television. I'm the person they talk about when they say, "There's no way they'll notice a hole in the plot." I do notice hole's in story plotlines or in magazine articles, but not when I'm watching television. I watch it for the entertainment value not to enhance my intelligence.

I know that's a lobbed softball. Have at it, folks.
