You were never funny or poignant.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The comic strip "Cathy," which has chronicled the life and dressing room meltdowns of its namesake for more than 30 years, is coming to an end.

Creator Cathy Guisewite (GEYES'-wyt) said Wednesday the final strip will run in newspapers on Sunday, Oct. 3.

Hopefully, the author will have the decency to have Cathy catch her husband in bed with that stupid little dog, eat everything in the fridge and charge into the mall clothing store shooting every sales woman in sight before committing suicide by cop.

Johnny Carson actually used to have that hack on as a guest. I assume he was hitting on her.

First 'Annie' and now this?
If they drop the bridge column, no one will ever buy a newspaper again.

Did Cathy ever marry Irving?

I'm the whiniest ***** I know. And I STILL hated that comic.

If it makes you feel any better, you're only the second whiniest ***** I know.
No, my wife isn't No. 1 (though she's a solid top 5!)

I never read Cathy, thank the holy one for that, but one look at her and I thought she was butcher than Peppermint Patty and Marcy put together.

I don't care how much she complained about me (did she? I really don't know), something about the way she was drawn made me think she adept at carpet munching.

Yeah, she did, a couple of years ago.

(Turning in my man card)

And not only is she whiny, she's turned him into a whiner.

We dumped Cathy in our shop a couple years ago.

Number of irate phone calls we received: 0.

No one here is shedding a tear.

You must not know all that many ******* then.... I mean, you can get a bit whiny at times, but the whiniest? Not by a long shot.

Cathy made Nancy look funny. And hot. Wait, what?

Hello new sig!

I did not know that Universal Press Syndicate is now known as Universal Uclick. What a ****ty new name. Depressing.

In junior high, our sex ed teacher ( a priest) told us to home and find an example of sexism in the newspaper that night. He suggested we look in the comic strip Cathy. Thankfully, that was the worse thing that ever happened with that priest.

Bubs, perhaps it is Cathy's lack of a nose that gives you the idea that, aerodynamically, she would be made for cunnilingus.

Met her once. Her dad was best friends with my boss from Army days. She was very nice, talked for a long time and actually a very interesting person. Not at all like her character. Not a big fan of the strip, but it had its place.

"Ack!"

Poor traumatized Electra - probably has canine PTSD from her human mommy.

It was awesome when Bloom County portrayed Cathy Guisiwite as a Communist revolutionary. Anyhoo, I used to read it all the time, when it still had relevance to women's changing roles. The few times I've read it lately, it's unreadable, slightly more so than Doonesbury. Comic strips, I guess, have a certain shelf life before losing mojo

I find it quite humorous that your sex ed teacher was a priest. On several levels.
