Glavine milestone thread

We've got one for Bonds. We have one for ARod. So here's one for Glavine. While I'm still inclined to spit vitriol in his general direction, I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge his career. What I'm wondering is if he'll walk away after this season. Here's why: What else is there left for him to accomplish (hi, prhack!); Two Cys, 300 wins, WS ring, WS MVP. Plus, if he retires after this season there is a good chance he'll be one of only seven pitchers with 300 wins and <200 losses. 300 w's is clearly enough for the HOF; less than 200 L's elevates him even among that group. Not bad for a sorry no-good carpet-baggin' two-timin' traitor ;D

pretty sure he's walking away after this year--i've seen most of his starts on TV this season--he definitely doesn't have it anymore (not counting last night) and i can't imagine he will see any benefit in coming back for another year

Great job novelist. I know it killed you. While you were remiss in not mentioning those five 20-win seasons, I'm willing to cut you some slack.

God I hope not.

As much as I wouldn't mind seeing that, there's no chance he goes in as a Met. He spent his first 16 seasons and won his first 242 wins with Atlanta. I don't care how much more success he has with New York -- whether it be this season or even into next -- he'll always be remembered as a Brave.

Well, I thought the end of the paragraph covered it, and I'm making a concerted effort to get over the way the greedy rat ******* traitor he left and be civil. My therapist has advised me it's not healthy to keep rehashing it.

"Those guys were way better (at hockey) than I ever was at this game," said Glavine, a former Los Angeles Kings draft pick. "It was mind-boggling that those guys, great as they were, took the time to congratulate me."

Oh, and there was a voice mail left by another pretty good left-hander, Sandy Koufax. That left Glavine in awe.
