That's too bad.
I got one of the nicest "letters" of my career from George Michael two years ago when he "was retired" from WRC-TV in Washington D.C. I sent him a congratulatory e-mail on his decades of work plus his Sports Machine (in the early 1980s, it really was a trendsetter for local TV sports highlights shows).
He mailed me a well-crafted, two-page, single-spaced note talking about the current state of TV sports, a couple funny stories about how the Machine itself came to be and what his plans were after this.
RIP, Mr. Michael.
