FOXSportsSouth.com is seeking a writer/editor based in Atlanta.

The position includes, but is not limited to, coverage of the Atlanta Braves, Falcons, Hawks and Dream, as well as ACC and SEC sports. Will also appear on Braves podcast, along with other podcasts, and occasional on-camera work (for Web and on-air) when needed.

Individual will also be part of edit staff, editing and posting articles for FOXSportsSouth.com, FOXSportsCarolinas.com and FOXSportsTennessee.com, making past dealings with on-line publishing and Photoshop a must. Content posting will include some desk duty on nights and weekends and include supplying buzz-worthy articles for use on the FOX Sports South Web sites, FOXSports.com and social channels.

On-camera experience is a requirement, as is a vast knowledge of MLB, NFL, NBA, college sports and social media involvement.

Preference will be given to applicants already in the Atlanta area, with an expected start date of July 1.

This is a contract position (1 year) and compensation will be commensurate with experience.

To apply, send a resume, cover letter and samples of writing and and on-air work, to [email protected].

Is this a full-time contractor position?

This is a full-time contractor job from the end that I'd want this to have someone's full attention. There isn't a lot of room for outside work along with it.

That kind of commitment should come with full-time benefits.

Not necessarily. But certainly one would hope the salary would be large enough for the contractor to cover any needed benefits. I can think of a few other online gigs that don't offer bennies but at least give fat cash.

Good to know Brett got that job. He's a good guy and a journalist the business needs off the sidelines.

I certainly haven't noticed that in my recent online experience. Granted, it's not been with FoxSports. While the money I'm making has been okay, it's quite a bit below what the permanent staff are pulling in, plus they get benefits.
