Watched most of Saturday and Sunday. Seemed like there were way more commercials than 4 minutes per hour Saturday. Sunday was about the norm.

The shot of the girlfriend on Sunday when he was holing the clinching putt was about as good as can be done. Just tremendous television right there.

CBS rarely disappoints on the Masters. It's got a 62-year head-start and as mentioned, the announcers are drilled on how to call the event.

The limited commercials are great -- yes, there were more this year, but not like what CBS usually does. It's great production year after year.

I wish CBS, Augusta National and McCord would all get together and bury the hatchet......but I really don't know if McCord wants to go back and do it. He has a lot of respect for the place and the product, and I think he's afraid he'll get on there and just screw up again.
That said, Nantzy and Co. do a helluva job.

With the departure of Tirico, ESPN needs to get the hell out of golf for good.
When they had Tirico, the Open was a must tune-in.......with him, Azinger, Faldo, SVP, Rankin, North, etc, etc.......that was a very well put together broadcast.

McCord has said he doesn't want to go back, even if he was invited. At this point, it would be a significant storyline if he went back and he doesn't want the attention. Too bad, I'd love to see him back too. He's incredibly sharp when he wants to be.

I think the tournament is at its best when the last few groups are playing 12-15. So much is happening at once that the lack of commercials really help with the flow.

I'm sure that I'm in the minority, but I don't think that the production is that superior to other CBS or NBC events.

Last I saw a few years ago, it's in his contract that he doesn't do the Masters. Love McCord and it's been, what, 23 years? He's not coming back, just like Jack Whitaker never came back.

Agreed, but they are out of the golf business except for the first two rounds of the Masters, which is a CBS production anyway. The Augusta lords go to ESPN because it gets the most eyeballs on cable and nothing more. And outside of SVP, and previously Tirico, from Butler Cabin, there are zero ESPN fingerprints on the first two rounds. Hell, Augusta demands the bottom line and ESPN logos are off the screen.

Needs more Protracer. It needs a LOT more. They have it on the website and apps.

I read that the BBC broadcast has more.
