Follow up call question

I know it may sound like a stupid question, but when an posting asks for no phone calls, does that include follow up calls? I've always been the type to do follow up phone calls, but have always been hesitant when a posting says no calls (because I assume that could also mean application calls to get more info).

Just thought I'd ask some of the veterans out there.
