Are you seriously claiming there's some kind of moral equivalence? These are girls in their late teens or barely out of their teens who are, by definition, not conventionally attractive. It's already an emotionally vulnerable age and then you take into account the fact that they've probably been either fat shamed or ignored by attractive guys (and unattractive guys) their entire life. They receive positive, self-affirming attention from a guy who wouldn't normally wouldn't give them the time of day. What they think is legitimate affection and an emotionally meaningful encounter turns out to be another fat-shaming episode in the most humiliating manner possible. And you're saying their part in the situation "wasn't exactly classy?" What are you suggesting? That any young woman who engages in consensual sex isn't "classy?" It's not like one of these douche bros came up to the girl and said, "Hey fatty, we're having a 'stick-a-pig' party. Let's have at it!" There was no doubt some serious manipulation involved.

It's no different than a guy who tells a girl in a bar that he's not married to get her in the sack, when he is. Guys lie to get sex all the time. It doesn't make them good human beings but it's not a legal situation, nor is it cause for a college to demand they take sensitivity training of some kind. There's still not a shred of evidence they were forced into sex against their will. If they're 18 and over and it was consensual, regardless of what the guy told her, there's no need for this hand-wringing on the part of Cornell. Does it make them scumbags? Absolutely.

Neither side in this case is beyond reproach. I'm just saying it doesn't require sensitivity training if there isn't a legal issue.

1) Adultery can most certainly be a legal situation.

B) No one in this situation is in legal trouble. The bros are on probation for violating a university rule.

III) While it isn’t criminal, it most certainly IS sexually abusive behavior that shouldn’t be dismissed at an institution tasked with preparing the next generation of adults.
