I just read this in Mandel's column on SI, but has Lou Holtz calling Rich Rod "Adolph Hitler" been discussed anywhere? Time for that coot to go.
yes. On its own thread on the J-board...
Thanks, slapp.

If Bammer ever plays a team with a great pass defense and a decent run defense, they are so ****ed...

They won't see many secondaries better than the one they play this week, and Tennessee can stop the run, too. But Tennessee is allergic to offense.

Will Chavis be providing us with the customary 12-yard cushion on receivers this year? I'll hang up and listen.

Please explain to me what in the hell happens to Alabama at halftime.
I've never seen a good team hit the third quarter so flat, week after week.

It looks to me like the Tide are extremely well-coached and extremely well-prepared to come out and exploit their opponents' weaknesses in the first half.

But they don't have much depth, so they have to hold on in the second half.

It's one of the two coverages they play.

1. Press man on first and second down.
2. Bail and hide on third.

It's a bunch of kids that doesn't understand how good they can be. I think they are up to something like 16 true freshmen who have played this year, many of them extensively. The analogy I've used is a 14-year-old with supermodel looks and talent, but she doesn't know how to walk steady in high heels yet.

Expectations over the summer were that this was an 8-win team. Now they are playing with house money.

So Cody is out, what, two games? If Tennessee can get a consistent ground game going and keep the score low, it has a shot.

Terrence Cody's knee injury only a sprain. Out at least two weeks.

If he's back for LSU, that's huge for Alabama ...

You're never playing with house money at Alabama. The Crimson part of that state now expects to see them in the national championship game this year. Anything less will be a failure.

If Alabama loses to Tennessee, it won't matter....as much, at least.

Thank you for explaining that. Because, really, I had no idea how any of that worked.

I know a few Bammers who would rather see their precious Tide not even make the title game rather than make it and lose.

tennessee is going to roll 'em saturday.

I'll be shocked, SHOCKED I tell you if the line on this game is anymore than 13.

And if it is, I can't pick up the phone fast enough.

I could see UT winning this outright.
