I haven't heard that. Forgot about that bombing. They think this one is linked to the ones at foreign consulates in 2005 and 2007, which also happened around the same time and a guy on a bike was spotted at those places. I don't remember seeing that they thought the Imperioli one was related to the consulate bombings.

In Israel today, at least 7 Jewish rabbinical students were killed when terrorists walked in with machine guns and shot up the school's dining hall. Dozens more injured.

Why is that not happening here in the US? Not talking about deranged students on campus, I'm talking about terrorist attacks, suicide bombs. NY has a guy on a bike messing up empty buildings....it just amazes me we haven't seen much much worse in the wake of 9/11 and the current war.

The population here isn't as radicalized as in other nations; Muslims identify as Americans, not as some type of mortal enemies of the country.

People have been predicting suicide bombings would happen here for years. And maybe they will. But this country will always, I think, have more lone wackos going off the rails than some type of concerted attacks.

Of course, being that it took 30 minutes to load a gun back when that right was written and the fact that we had to bear arms back then to protect ourselves from an oppressive government, i could see why you might think it wrong for me to want 212 unregistered handguns and a barrell full of bullets in a society full of nutjobs.

Remember, guns don't kill people, but they sure do help!

It didn't take 30 minutes to load a rifle back then.

Thirty seconds for trained troops, 60 seconds for your average Colonial farmer out shooting at some rabbits. I can load my Hawken muzzleloader in about 45 seconds.

It's funny how much this is being downplayed. I wonder how hysterical the coverage would be if it hadn't been a recruiting center.

You know why it was downplayed? Because it happened at 3 a.m. when even Times Square was practically deserted. If it had been, say, Centennial Olympic Park during a packed concert, then it wouldn't have been downplayed. And yes, if it had been the Times Square recruiting center in the middle of the day, it wouldn't have been downplayed. Clearly, the jackass(es) who did this were aiming for attention, not casualties (as opposed to al-Qaeda, which wants both).

A bigger question is why other suspicious devices at other recruiting stations across the country haven't been given a lot of play. Has Code Pink merged with Earth First or ELF?
