Interesting concept. I've seen a lot of these kinds of stories lately - email as a time drain, email addiction, email too often replacing face-to-face communication. Even a lot of this year's season of "The Office" has been about the backlash against technology's advance.

There does seem to be a bit of an email/IM backlash starting to coagulate in society.

This will last until they find out that e-mail is better for the bottom line, and "Email Free Friday" gets scrapped.

"I'm going out to meet face-to-face with my customer!"

"No, stay here, e-mail's better for productivity!"

**** that noise. I don't visit customers on Friday (or Monday for that matter). Friday is a terrible day to choose for this idea.

Face-to-face with customers... e-mail with co-workers.
