Elite Sports NY is growing, and we are actively recruiting a full-time, salaried Editor/Writer to manage and cover New York sports. The candidate should be located in the New York sports market. This is a terrific opportunity, and you will quickly become the face and voice of our coverage.
Your focus will be on major New York professional sports across NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL, but you also should be capable of writing on specific New York sports topics such as local sports media stories.
This position will write several times a day and have the opportunity to inject plenty of personality into the content. You'll also manage a team of freelancers. Versatility is paramount.
Previous New York sports experience is a must. Ideally, you have experience writing in a fast-paced, digital environment, someone with a unique and interesting style and perspective who enjoys turning a phrase. You have a critical eye but aren't a one-trick, made-for-TV hot-take artist. You recognize and chase great stories. Above all, you are somebody people want to read.
