Those cows from Chik-fil-A are getting angry.

ALLIANCE, Ohio (AP) — A northeast Ohio farmer was attacked by a cow and died a day later of a fractured skull suffered when his head hit the ground, authorities said.

The cow charged Steven Walker, 55, on Monday and knocked him down inside a barn on his farm in Lexington Township, said Rick Walters, a Stark County coroner's investigator.

Walker was pronounced dead Tuesday in the intensive care unit of Mercy Medical Center in nearby Canton.

Investigators plan to interview Walker's 8- and 13-year-old grandsons who witnessed the attack, Walters said.

The cow might have become agitated as Walker moved one of her calves.

Perhaps the cow was a member of the democrat party and found that the farmer had voted for Bush in 2006 election.

Out here you can tell when calves are being separated from cows because of all the bellerin' going on.
That won't be for a while, though, because most ranchers are just now starting to calf.
I mean, most ranchers' cows are now starting to calf. :)

However sad it is that the farmer lost his life, and it is very sad, this is EXACTLY what you look for in a good cow. One who's aggressive when it comes to protecting her calves -- your investment.

I grew up on a farm with beef cattle and was dealt my share of bruises from angry cows in my teenage years. One time after separating a cow and her calf, I was pinned in the corner of a corral and the cow started ramming me in the hip. I began climbing the gate to get away and she got her head under my ass and flung me over the gate into the mud about 10 feet away. I was pretty stiff for the next few days.

My grandfather had some broken ribs and a collapsed lung once when a cow knocked him down and stepped on him, but fortunately nobody I know was ever killed by any kind of bovine.

I lived on a small farm, but worked on a HUGE commercial farm as a teenager. We were castrating, tagging, vaccinating and tatooing the new calves one day (many days, actually), when we ran into a particularly agressive mother. 17X. I'll never forget that number.

We knew she was going to put up a fight, so we took some precautionary measures. My boss (the driver) distracted her on one side of the truck and kept her off me with a stick while I caught the calf and threw it into the back of the truck to safely complete my tasks.

After a few minutes of fighting off 'ole 17X, my boss couldn't keep her away from the back of the truck. He'd broken his shepherd's cane on her while trying to keep her away from me when she found me and junior in the bed of the truck. She tried to get into the back of the truck with me. She got her front legs onto the tailgate and was pretty rowdy by this time. It scared the **** out of me, but just before she got into the bed of the truck WITH ME, I finished with the calf and eased him over the side of the bed and lowered him to the ground.
