For as much grief as the suits at Augusta get, the Drive-Chip-Putt is one of the coolest things around.
Giving kids-parents this age a memory/moment they’ll never forget.

We have three kids from our association playing in it, and yes, it's awesome. Free for kids to register, and we hold at least six qualifiers in our state every year, then onto sub-regionals and regionals. Even if you don't make it all the way, if you're in regionals, you're playing at some place like Pinehurst or Oakmont or AAC. It's really cool.

Luck of the draw this year. Masters weekend is Masters weekend.

Agreed. Move it to Saturday. More often than not, this or the Masters will fall on Easter. Not that Easter is a big deal anymore.

We visited a church that we were considering for our wedding. It was Easter and also the Daylight Savings changeover. The pastor was a woman who was really cool. She thanked everybody for showing up and said, "This is a classic example of the state telling the church to go screw themselves."

I took my kid to a local drive-chip-putt qualifier in the first year of the thing and it was really well-run. Golf's governing bodies don't get a lot of things right but they did with this.
