Dell laptop question

Someone once asked how to increase the screen brightness on a Dell laptop.

I have an Inspiron 6000 and cannot find that thread with the information.

Control and up arrow buttons work for me.

On mine, a similar model, it's the function button, "Fn" right next to the left control button, along with the up directional. The down button, obviously, dims the screen. But hold the Fn button down with it.

to clarify: Drop the Dell from a 15th story or higher, run down the stairs cackling like a madman, and then **** all over the remnants. then put it in a package and mail to Dell HQ. those ****ing ****s.
