Go Cubs Go was a WGN radio jingle about 25 years ago. I don't know what caused the comeback but it started last year.

Go Cubs Go was a WGN radio jingle about 25 years ago. I don't know what caused the comeback but it started last year.

Go Cubs Go was written by the late (and very young) Steve Goodman, who died of leukemia in 1984, four days before the Cubs clinched the NL East. He also wrote A Dying Cubs Fan's Last Request.

Someone at the Cubs or WGN (not sure) heard an old album of Goodman's songs and recycled Go Cubs Go.

That song is just awful.

I much prefer the 11-year old classic When The Cubs Win The World Series by Cleaning Ladys, a local Chicago band, who are all Cub fans.

Dodgers pitching > Cubs pitching

That will be a fine NLCS pairing.

Cubs — 94-60 in a solid division.
Dodgers — 81-75 in a division of fail.

Cubs — Best batting average and highest-scoring offense in the NL.
Dodgers — Nowhere near that.

Also, the Cubs are a close second and actually lead several NL pitching categories.

I believe in stats, not curses.

How are you on hunches?

I found out last night that the name of my son's T-Ball team, for which I am the manager, is going to be Cubs. That doesn't instill confidence in my inaugural season as a coach. We're bound to suck, and, if my son starts rooting for the Cubs, I might sue.

If the Cubs winning the World Series brings a repeat of what happened in the aftermath of the Red Sox' win in 2004, I'm all for them going another 100 years without a title.

I found out last night that the name of my son's T-Ball team, for which I am the manager, is going to be Cubs. That doesn't instill confidence in my inaugural season as a coach. We're bound to suck, and, if my son starts rooting for the Cubs, I might sue.

I coached Tee-ball for a couple of years with my dad. We asked to be the Cubs, and the stupid commissioner gave us the White Sox because another age group was the White Sox, and it was cheaper that way, and "they're both from Chicago, so I figured you wouldn't mind."

My response: "Oh, I ****ing mind. I'm not wearing that ****."

Commish was a church-going man, but I was in my rebellious college stage, and I had to make my point.

I had to wear it — but not for one minute before or after the game — and I wanted to die.

We were the Cubs for his second year of Tee-ball (city champs, *****!) and then I moved for work, and he's been on AAU teams ever since.
