I guess I wonder whether shows come up with deaf characters and then cast her, or whether -- and I bet this happens -- good shows (West Wing) want to work with her and create these roles.

My top 3:
Marg -- smokin' older babe that you know has done just about everything
Proctor -- the girl next door that would just be wild in the sack, but not quite boots' girl wild
Malina -- the hot European chick, I've always had a crush on her since my girlfriend freshman year in college forced me to watch Guiding Light

She and Dana Delany were fine on China Beach. And Kanakaredes, to me, looks as weird as she did in Providence. Just something a little off, can't really pinpoint it.
