...by saying today that Weis is a great fit at Notre Dame because he's so media friendly.

He said it. He really did.

As media friendly as his doppelganger Bill Parcells.

Maybe he means he offers good quotes while disparaging others. As long as it's not you I'm sure it's a laff-riot.

If Charlie is really channeling Parcells, then he's the beat writer's nightmare, the visiting beat writer's friend, the national writer's sweetheart, and a columnist's delight. I'm not at ND, but is that about how he's handling things?

It's surprising to me Cowherd can even speak intelligibly with Weis's FUPA smothering his face 24/7/365.

Dude, give us a break. The slurping noises DON'T make for good radio.

I can think of a lot of coaches who fit that description.

I thought it was FOPA??

By the way, doesn't Gunt-boy look like Parcells without a horrendous dye job?

i'll defend coach parcells on one issue:

his pressers, four times a week, are as good as they get.

unfortunately, none of his disciples carry that off nearly as well. although surprisingly, belichick has come along nicely.

the disciples cut off access to assistants, close practices, etc., but then compound it by being AWFUL as the "one voice." at least parcells fills your notebook with quotable stuff.

I hated when TK's morning show left the ESPN lineup, and it was replaced by this dreck.

But I've tried to give Cowherd a chance. And since he had me on Spanning the Globe a few times, admittedly, I wanted to cut him some slack.

But his show sucks. It does. He wants to be edgy, and isn't. He was going on his anti-newspaper rant today. A dying industry, etc. Tell us something we don't know.

I do like Dan Patrick's hour with Olbermann, however. And Countdown, of course.

STFU Colin.

Mrs. Editude listens as she goes to work, but I'm not a fan. Hammers his few themes and comes across like a guy who has to rationalize his existence without being asked.

He actually said today that "without rash generalizations I'm have no act." Even his staff took him to task. The guy is pitiful and contradictory and he sounds like a frightened little girl when he gets excited.

When he started, I liked Cowherd, and was happy to see Tony and his "old guy radio" go. But Cowherd is a condescending prick. I'll give him that he knows his college football, but he's such a jerk it makes him almost unlistenable. Any caller that disagrees with him gets an "Oh, you're just a powerwasher of cars, what do you know?" or something similar. He's a ****twit.

Agreed on the ****twit comment.

Although Patrick is getting just as bad to listen to.

Cowherd is a blowhard. College football is the only thing he really knows, and he blows that all out of proportion - it's minor league football, Colin. The way he gets all hyped and excited reminds me of Mike Lupica.

I thought he was fairly knowledgeable about college football, too. But after hearing him go on about Weis' media friendliness, I've changed my mind.

A dying industry, yup . . .

Unfortunately . . . on-the-air whoring and sucking is a thriving industry.

He said it. He really did.

We also have the national media to thank for the perception that Coach K and JoePa are media friendly...

The beat writers will gladly tell you what assholes the guys really are...
