I did stupid **** at 25 too. My issue is that five minutes on Google shows she went to Michigan State straight out of high school. So, she was smart enough and had good enough academics to get in there. What guidance counselor is seriously telling someone accepted to college this? I smell big time bull****, or at least some embellishment.

Maybe the guidance counselor said, "If you don't stop getting high and giving BJs under the bleachers, you'll never make anything of yourself."
And all she heard was the last part ... right before she bumped her head on the underside of the counselor's desk.

High school guidance counselors are some of the most useless people on the planet. I don't doubt the story for a minute.

I think it's probably a little of column A and a little of column B. Little doubt she was bright and had a pretty clear path to a big-time school. But it's also very easy to see a 70-something curmudgeon telling a girl she has no chance to be a sports reporter.

Her handle is "brittbrat." Apparently that's her "brand." It sounds like a bratty thing to say.

I can see that too. But the social-media dunking represents a lack of class that I'm finding too frequent from that generation. Now if you don't mind I'm going back to my lawn and later taking the Gran Torino for a spin.
