Re: Alone on T-Day...

Tom: I didn't say it was a wrong turn! Gives new meaning to the term, "crack investigator."

Makes me wanna drive around this hellhole Jersey cesspool seeking trouble tonight ...

Re: Alone on T-Day...

Well I pulled on trouble's braids
and I hid in the briars
out by the quick mud
stayin' away from the main roads
passin' out wolf tickets
downwind from the blood hounds
and I pulled on trouble's braids

and I lay by a cypress
as quiet as a stone
'til the bleeding stopped
I blew the weather vane
off some old road house
I build a fire in the
skeleton back seat of an old Tucker
and I pulled on trouble's braids

I spanked cold red mud
where the hornet stung deep
and I tossed in the ditch
in a restless sleep
and I pulled on trouble's braids

I hung my rain-soaked jacket
on some old barbed wire
poured cold rusty water
on a miserable fire
I pulled on trouble's braids

the creek was swollen by daybreak
and I could just barely see
and I floated downstream
on an old dead tree
and I pulled on trouble's braids
I pulled on trouble's braids
I pulled on trouble's braids

jesus christ. grow a set of balls, talk to this girl and get this childish uncomfortable situation behind you. she probably just doesn't know what to say, either. but because you're too big of a sissy (note how i didn't use the word *****), you'll let what could be a good person escape your life instead of communicating with her.

I agree with Tom. Preferably, do this while inebriated. Drink vodka so she won't catch the whiff.

really, fight the little voice that vodka creates.

Dammit, where was I when this thread became interesting? This line has had me laughing for the last 10 minutes.

Agreed that the situation needs to be engaged directly, but if someone won't even say "hello," that seems like a bad sign. I suppose it could just be awkwardness, but damn.

I guess I shouldn't speculate since I can't imagine being good friends with someone and then having a "light makeout session" send everything tumbling downward into oblivion. If I went out with one of my platonic friends, we got wasted on Old Crow and I ended up sniffing lines of coke out of her ass crack before going down on her from behind while she sang Patti Smith songs in Norwegian, I might feel a little strange about it all, but I'd definitely say "hello" next time I saw her.

This may be one of the better posts here recently.

Except it's Patty Smyth, not Smith. :D

Being single, what little family I have is headed to my bro inlaw's relatives and nothing to do until I head to the office at 6.

Suggestions? (OK, insert wise-ass comments here!) Sleep the day away? Nuke some sliced turkey breast from Wally-World, mix in some instand mashed spuds and throw a jar of gravy on it and watch football?

In all seriousness, I'm contemplating going to a local soup kitchen and asking if I can help serve people their dinners.

I figure, doing something for those less fortunate might be the best thing I can do.

Anyone ever done this?

Thanks, folks.

Hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday.

The one Christmas I was alone, it made that holiday to go help others. Good move.

Tell me about it. For the last two hours, I was on the phone, consoling my nympho friend, who just broke up with her boyfriend. Damn it, how I wanted in on the cocaine and anal sex tonight.

Re: Alone on T-Day...

I think I would have been marching over to that nymphette's house if I were you.

A four-hour march by car certainly was not in the cards. Besides, she's like my sister -- despite her mother's wishes.

if she's hot AND her mom's hot, well maybe you should reassess.

Re: Alone on T-Day...

I don't find her all that attractive -- but, like I said, she's like a sister to me -- and her mother's not, either.

I'll be meeting someone at an undisclosed location at 10 a.m. I even cleaned out my car for her, so it better turn into something. ...

It's Captain Morgan's for this one. A bottle of Jack will get her father and brother out of the room faster than the squirrel's in Write-brain's walls.

I am NOT Peter MacNicol, thankfully. Although, spup does wish she were as tall as Christine Baranski.

Re: Alone on T-Day...

Well, I bought a pint of Wild Turkey and gave it to a homeless guy. It was kind of anti-climactic. He just said "Thanks" and went on his way, cool as Miles Davis. It was as if I had given him a paper book of matches with two matches left. Oh well, I did it for the poetic nature of the act, not in hopes of receiving effusive gratitude. And there was a certain poetry in the way dude just accepted a free pint o' booze like it was no big deal.

Re: Alone on T-Day...

Nice job there, WI. Now, I'll take a bottle of Balvenie 15-year-old single malt scotch.
