How did this not get posted here? I know it's not a sports job, but you can't beat the convenience. Hell, you'd be 15 minutes from ANYWHERE!

Company: Tahoe Daily Tribune
Position: Community Editor
Location: South Lake Tahoe, California
Job Status: Full-time
Salary: Negotiable
Ad Expires: September 4, 2009
Job ID: 1080994
Website: http://www.tahoedailytribune.com

Description:
The Tahoe Daily Tribune in beautiful South Lake Tahoe, Calif., is looking for a community editor to write features and manage press releases, stories, photos and other content submitted by our active readership — both in print and online.

We're looking for someone who sees intriguing story possibilities in pancake breakfasts, kids fishing derbies or a new burger place opening in town. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized, detail-oriented editor who would enjoy working with community members to make their submissions shine. Some photography skills desired.

Thorough knowledge of AP style is required. The selected applicant must be Web-savvy and enthusiastic about learning new Internet applications.

Familiarity with Lake Tahoe's South Shore is a plus.

Interested? E-mail a resume and three to five published writing samples to Managing Editor Elaine Goodman, [email protected], or mail to Tahoe Daily Tribune, 3079 Harrison Ave., South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.

Include a cover letter explaining how you would handle dozens of contributors who all think their event is the most important. EOE.

*Rim shot* :D

Talk about a slam dunk for anyone who has ever dealt with sports parents.

Tahoe is beautful, obviously, but you had better be able to handle snow if interested in this one. Probably won't pay tons, either, and it's not cheap to live there.

Yeah. Pay will be low, rent will be high, and if you're in South Lake Tahoe, it can be fun. I used to live in Truckee and if I ever came back, it would still on the north side of the lake, but in Kings Beach. Best get some chains as well.

How far is it from Sacramento?

You guys aren't listening, are you?

15 MINUTES!!!!!!!!

Sheesh! You'd think they'd figure it out, wouldn't you?

Fresno is about two hours south of Stockton on Hwy 99, maybe a pinch more. Stockton is about an hour south of Sacramento, which is two hours from South Lake Tahoe.

No, I'm pretty sure Sacto is 15 minutes from Tahoe.
