I never said that accusing Cleland of breaking his oath was accusing him of treason. It's not. "Treason" is well-specified crime, the only one in the Constitution. Accusing Cleland of breaking his oath would be accusing him of breaking his oath, which would in some cases be perjury. But Cleland's oath isn't the point of the ad, and it isn't why everyone except the terminally and deliberately obtuse recognize the ad as despicable.
And John McCain continues to embarrass himself.

I'm arguing against the only argument anyone has made here yet as to why that ad crossed the line.

I already acknowledged I didn't see them at the time & found the worst I could. In the references to it, this seems to be the ad they focus on. Tell me what I missed.

Why on Earth would you expect anyone to take as scientific fact that this happened without knowing what it was that happened and making an independant judgement. Your example is very telling - if you take everything that the talking heads feed you as truth to the same degree that you know that the earth is round, it explains much of the conversation that goes on around here.

I assume that it's the same ad, and if so, the article is misleading. It doesn't show him with Hussain & Bin Laden, it shows pictures of them while the voiceover says that the world we live in is dangerous. Very different.

Also, are you assuming he's an empty suit from these ads, or do you know based on his work?
