Former Clarion-Ledger columnist Rick Cleveland posted this on Facebook. I worked with Butch in Jackson and Louisville. Keep him in your thoughts:

Some of you may remember working with Butch John, a sportswriter for the Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Miss., in the 1980s, before he moved to news in the '90s. He covered Ole Miss and the New Orleans Saints, winning many state, regional and national awards for his sportswriting and later for his news reporting. He may be best known for asking Doug Williams the "stupidest question in Super Bowl history," which you can read about on the Facebook page Black Quarterback. Butch, who now lives with his wife, Jana, in Louisville, Ky., has just been diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He will begin radiation and chemotherapy on Monday. He has been reminiscing a lot lately about his days as a sportswriter and some of the sportswriters and others he met during that time. If you'd like to send Butch good wishes or remind him of past (mis)adventures, you can contact him through his Facebook page, Butch John. Communication is a challenge for him at this point, but Jana reads him all the messages he receives. Butch, says: "Hey, y'all."

While I don't know him, a very nice post. Hope God's touch heals him and comforts him, his family and friends.
