We're getting calls here in the media center about a building collapse in New York...

Can't find anything about this on the web. Info, anyone?

Explosion sparks four-alarm fire in NYC, says MSNBC. Says fire department says it doesn't appear to be related to terrorism. Nothing on CNN or Fox News Channel on first look.

That's all I've got at this time.

Underground/manhole explosion near Grand Central Station ... 4 or 5-alarm fire ... 1 reported serious injury

Sounds like a big manhole explosion at 43rd and Lex. Steam-pipe.

underground transformer explosion....Grand Central evacuated.

now being called a steam-pipe explosion near Chrysler Building on East Side of Manhattan ... no fire .. no building collapse... not that big a deal

A lots of debris in the street ... steam and mud shooting up out of the hole in the street.

Lexington Ave. near 41st Street.

Spectacular live shot on local news. Like a volcano - a geyser of hot mud - fifteen feet high in the middle of Lexigton.

New York - it's a summer festival!

Metro-North still running. Have to enter the terminal at 47 and Madison.

Reports of 12 people injured ... Grand Central is opened but Lex Ave and 42nd St entrances obviously are closed.

20-inch steampipe exploded ... leaving a large hole in 41st St between 3rd and Lexington ... about 1/3 the width of the street according to TV

The YouTube video that is linked on the blog jmacg posted, is intense. It is really loud and looks like a building collapsed, based on the coloring of the cloud.
