The Buffalo News has an opening for a Buffalo Sabres beat reporter who can break news online, produce unique content for our BN Hockey app, turn a gamer into poetry, find daily enterprise that gives fans new insights and write magazine pieces that tell the bigger story. Applicants must be able to engage readers through multiple platforms: blogs, social media, live chats and video. Send a resume, references and examples of work to Executive Sports Editor Lisa Wilson, One News Plaza, Buffalo, N.Y. 14240 or [email protected].

Jack Eichel went up the hill to fetch a pail of water
Jack fell down and broke his crown
and the Sabres came tumbling after ...
in a 4-1 loss to the Rangers.

Who's leaving that this position is opening up?
From what I've heard, nobody. That would make this an addition to their Sabres crew, which includes John Vogl, Mike Harrington (also their baseball writer), Amy Moritz (who also covers college pucks), and columnist Bucky Gleason.

Yes, there are still places that actually add to their coverage.

Also of note, three of those four names appear in this year's APSE Top 10 writing awards: Harrington for beat coverage and features, Gleason in explanatory, Moritz for project reporting.
