Looks like the U.K. (at least England and Wales, anyway) will vote to leave the EU. British Pound surged on early news that "Remain" would win, but has dropped to a 30-year-low against the dollar.

With the U.K. gone there will be nobody willing or able to stop Germany from making a move for complete control of the EU, and very shortly the rest of the members will get sick of that, and hasta la vista.

The benefit for every British government is that the EU redistributed a lot of the cash that the UK sent it to Scotland, Wales, the perpetually screwed areas of the north.... And to Northern Ireland (particularly agricultural subsidies.)

Now that Westminster has to make these decisions, it'll be a nightmare for anyone in power. ("Why are northern Ireland cows getting cash we need for our local hospital in Liverpool?!")

But hey, it's a super-duper time for Americans to take a vacation in London when the pound crashes. Tour our soon-to-be-historic financial sector before it leaves for Dublin and the Continent.

I don't see how anything changes. Britain is already outside of the Schengen Agreement. When you get off the ferry in Dover or land at Heathrow, you have to clear customs.
